Blog # 24

The lyric projects we did in class really related to my life in different ways.  The first one that really spoke to me was the one about abortion.  I am such a strong believer in not getting abortions and saving a child life.  When i first read the lyrics i knew the song was about abortion.  However, i was so surprised to find out the song lyrics were about the girl who wrote them.  From her perspective as a fetus.  It really just related to my beliefs that i have in regards to abortion and was a really touching song.  It touch my emotional side and i just wanted to scream out this is why abortion is wrong.  It was just such emotional lyrics and really made my views much stronger.

Another lyrics project that hit home with me was the one about the guy not being able to date the girl he loves because the parents did not approve.  I have had this happen to me before only the other way around.  I was not allowed to date the guy i liked because my parents thought he was not good enough for me.  Some of the lyrics in that song really made me feel emotional and brought back past memories and feelings.  Not only were the lyrics amazing but so was his voice! I think that fact that his voice was so awesome really helped me relate deeper with his song.

The last lyrics project i want to talk about is the one Susie did.  Her lyrics hit home for me in so many different ways.  I really think they hit home for everyone.  I think she has a talent of finding a way to write so that it relates to everyone in the room.  When she was talking about laying in bed at night and thinking about everything and processing everything that is what was like wow is she talking about my life here? I mean i do that every night.  Right before i go to bed when i laying there i have my moment of clarity.
